WORLD RECORD CLUB RELEASES
The World Record Club was formed in 1958 and was essentially a membership club for record collectors.
Orders for LP’s or Reel to Reel tapes would be placed after selecting your choice from the magazines regularly
sent to subscribers. Records and Tapes would then be posted by mail to the subscribers address along with a
request for payment to be forwarded to the WRC offices at Little Green, Richmond, Surrey.
There was a wide choice of music to choose from. All tastes were catered for, from Classical to Jazz, and Easy
Listening to Pop. Most were cheaper copies of earlier releases from the big record companies of the day, and
differed only by alternative picture covers and sleeve notes, but all offered good quality recordings.
WRC was purchased by EMI in 1965
